Making Menu Bar for Your Web Graphic

Now what were going to make here is a really nice sleek web 2.0 menu bar.

Step 1

First create a new document size, 500 by 300. So go to layer/create new layer. Call it menu. Now grab the rectangle tool and draw out a rectangle. That will be our base for the rectangle. Then go to layer/rasterize layer.

Step 2

Go to layer/layer style/blending options. Then click on color. Make it the color C1BF00. Then click on stroke. Make the stroke, E3E3E3.

Step 3

Go to layer/duplicate layer. Then cut off most of the shape leaving a 5 pixel rectangle at the top.

Step 4

All you have to do is go to blending options, and remove the stroke and the color. Then give it the gradient with the colors C1BF00 and 000000.

Step 5

Then do the same thing on the bottom but just reverse the gradient. So now this is what you should have so far.

Step 6

No create a new layer again. Call it menuetop. Then make a rectangle over the one we already have and make sure its the color White or FFFFFF. Then just cut it in half but selecting half of it and pressing backspace. Then go to blending options and make the opacity to 25.

Step 7

Now its time to add the text. Make sure the color is FFFFFF So just write out the text across on top of the lighter rectangle. Then open up a new document. No matter the size. Then drag the text in. Then go to image/rotate canvas/ flip 180. Then flip canvas horizontally. Now drag the text back. Then align the two texts together.

Step 8

Grab the text under. You will go to blending options and give the gradient with these two colors. BBBA00 and FFFFFF. Then go to blending options and give it an opacity of 40.

Step 9

we will make the tiny bars that separate each link. So on top of all the layers create a new layer call it separate. Then make a two pixel selection and color it in black. Then give it a gradient with these two colors, B2B000 and CAC840.

Step 10

Duplicate out the separate bar to separate every link. This is what I have so far.

Step 11

So now we will make a selection over one of the links. Then we will color it in white.

Step 12

No just make the opacity to 25 by going to blending options. Then your done. You have made your web 2.0 nice and sleek menu. Good luck but this is what I got.

Thank the data and the picture from PSTuts.com

Making Folder Icon

1. We'll begin this tutorial, by creating a new canvas at a size of 370 x 230 then select the "Rectangular Marquee Tool" and draw the below shape as illustrated. Then create a new layer and fill with 0066ff. Name this layer "Back Flap"

2. Now choose the "Polygonal Lasso Tool" and draw the below shape as illustrated. Be certain to hold in the "Shift" key on your keyboard to get the correct angles and straight lines. Then fill with 0066ff.

3. Then go to the main menu and select "Edit" then "Free Transform". While holding the "Ctrl" key in on your keyboard, drag the middle square to the right to give it the right angle. Once satisfied, hit the "Enter" key on the keyboard to commit the change.

4. Now right click the "Back Flap" layer in the layers palette and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Inner Shadow ". Do not click "OK" yet. Still more to do.

Now click on "Gradient Overlay". You may now click OK.

You should now have the below image.

5. Next, create a new layer, then using both the "Rectangular Marquee Tool" and the "Polygonal Lasso Tool" draw the below shape and fill with 0066ff as was done in steps 1 and 2. Name this layer "Front Flap".

6. Again, angle the "Front Flap" layer as done in step 3.

Now right click the "Front Flap" layer in the layers palette and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Inner Shadow ". Do not click "OK" yet. Still more to do.

Now click on "Satin". Do not click "OK" yet. Still more to do.

Now click on "Gradient Overlay". You may now click OK.

You should now have the below image.

7. Now grab the "Rectangle Tool" and draw a White rectangle, which will serve as a sheet of paper. Name this layer "Paper".

Again, angle the "Paper" layer as done in step 3.

Now right click the "Paper" layer in the layers palette and select, "Blending Options...". Now click on "Drop Shadow ". Do not click "OK" yet. Still more to do.

Now click on "Stroke". You may now click OK.

You should now have the below image.

8. Then duplicate the "Paper" layer twice and move accordingly like the below image.

9. Next, duplicate the "Front Flap" layer. Then clear the layer style. To do this, right click on the duplicated layer in the layers palette and select "Clear Layer Style".

Then change color to Black. To do this, "Ctrl" click the duplicated layer to create a selection around it. Then go to the main menu and select "Edit" then "Fill". Choose Black and click OK then deselect the selection.

Drag this layer so it is beneath the "Front Flap" layer in the Layers Palette. Name this layer "Shadow" in the Layers Palette.

10. Then go to the main menu and select "Filter" then "Blur" and lastly "Gaussian Blur".

You should now have the below image.

11. Now "Ctrl" click the "Back Flap" layer to create a selection around it. Now go to "Selection" then "Inverse". Be certain that the "Shadow" layer is selected in the Layers Palette and hit "Delete" on your keyboard. Then deselect the selection.

Turn the Fill of the "Shadow" layer down to about 27.

12. Now let's create some gloss. First select the "Pen Tool" and draw the below shape using White as the color. Then turn the Fill down to 4%. Then rasterize the gloss layer. Name this layer "Gloss".

Now "Ctrl" click the "Front Flap" layer to create a selection around it then go to the main menu and choose "Select" then "Modify" and lastly "Contract". Contract by 2 and click OK.

Next, be certain that the "Gloss" layer is selected in the Layers Palette, then go to "Select" then "Inverse" then "Edit" and finally "Cut".
